SECOND BAROQUE MUSIC FESTIVAL OPENED

Numerous music lovers visited the Native Museum to attend the first of five concerts announced in the framework of the Second Baroque Music Festival entitled “Following the Traces of Venice – Seguendo le orme della Serenissima”, initiated and artistically managed by Professor Domagoj Terzić.

As part of the Fishermen's Fest, a batana (a traditional fishing boat) by the name of Cal Santa was launched into the sea from the Small Pier.

The launching was attended by numerous curious spectators, and the event was further enriched by the ceremonial act of opening a bottle of Champaign and introductory remarks by Deputy Mayor Marin Budicin, who wished the boat a long sailing life and calm seas.

RADIO COMPANY SUPERCONTATTO SHOW GOT THE CITIZENS OF ROVINJ AND THEIR GUESTS DANCING

For the fifth year in a row, the Radio Company Supercontatto Show was organized on the magnificent stage set up on the Marshall Tito Square.

The old and the young, the artists and the amateurs, the fine art lovers and the ordinary folk all came to see the retrospective exhibition by academic painter Bruno Mascarelli, the bard of the Rovinj and world painting.

13TH NATURE BIENNIAL OF FEDERATIONS OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ART OPENED Italian Photographic Art Association Most Successful

The 13th Nature Biennial of Federations of Photographic Art was opened in Rovinj. It was organized by the International Federation of Photographic Art, the Croatian Photographic Art Association and the Batana Visual Arts Center under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia, the Istrian County, the City of Rovinj and the Tourist Association of Rovinj.

2nd EVENING OF THE WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL

Teha, an a capella vocal ensemble from Cres, and MacZde Carpate, a French band, performed on the second and final evening of the World Music Festival, prepared and opened beneath the walls of St. Euphemia's Church by Tamara Obrovac and supported by the Tourist Association and the City of Rovinj.

Tamara Obrovac, of course, the organizer of the Rovinj World Music Festival who brought Kastav, a women’s a capella vocal ensemble from Kastav, and Terra Folk, a Slovene band composed of young and musically educated members, on the Monte summer stage.

Rovinj Hosted 2nd Istrian Choir Festival

As many as seven Istrian choirs: Vox Sipans from Umag, Dott. Silvio Fortuna from Višnjan, Željezničar from Roč, Mon Perin from Bale, and three Rovinj choirs, namely the choirs of HKD Franjo Glavinić and KUD Marco Garbin, and Rubino, a chamber choir, performed together at the 2nd Istrian Choir Festival held in Rovinj.

2nd SUMMER SALSA FESTIVAL

On the last weekend of June Rovinj hosted the 2nd International Summer Salsa Festival. Beginner and advanced workshops in this extremely popular Latin American dance were organized by the Mambero dance club from Zagreb, while the main sponsors of the event were the Maistra tourist agency, the City of Rovinj, and the Tourist Association.

First North Adriatic Traditional Boat Regatta

Fifteen owners of lugsail or Latin sail boats coming from the neighboring Venice, the Island of Rab, the nearby Pula and Poreč, and, of course, Rovinj participated in the first international regatta organized in honor of these characteristic North Adriatic boats.
