For the second year in a row, the tourist and hotel establishment Maistra, in cooperation with the town tourist board, organised a manifestation entitled the ‘Autumn Taste of Rovinj’.
CAMP VALALTA, FIRST CERTIFIED NATURIST CAMPSITE IN EUROPE
The International Naturist Federation (INF) and the Croatian Naturist Association (DNH) awarded INF quality certificate to camp Valalta which confirms that the camp meets quality standards prescribed by the naturist association.
Since there are different approaches to the understanding of naturism and naturist offer, what alienates them from the original naturist principles, INF realized the need to create a standard framework for the unification of basic naturist needs that resulted in the awarding of the first certificate.
The certificate was presented by the President of the International Naturist Federation - Ivo Siegliende and the President of the Croatian Naturist Association - Davorin Zugčić at the head office of the Istria County in Pula.
Thanks to the organisers – the hotels and catering establishment Maistra and the Libertango Studio from the German town of Oldendurg, and patrons – the Town and its Tourist Board, Rovinj was host to the Tango Festival for the second year in a row.

As he had promised to gathered crowd the night earlier, Paul Young held a concert in the central square of Rovinj. This was a sort of a reminder of his hits which had the world-famous musician and singer in the limelight during the eighties and nineties.
Due to a long summer downpour, which was pouncing down on Rovinj around 10 pm, the announced concert by Paul Young was cancelled. Unfortunately, the rain, accompanied by wind, did not allow the famous English and world star to present himself with his by now recognizable and evergreen tunes.
The traditional feast being held for over two decades and organized by the Tourist Board – the popular Night of Rovinj, which has tourism employees bidding goodbye to the high season and thanking guests and visitors for their stay in the town of St Euphemia, was divided into two music and gastronomy nights this year.
For the ninth year in a row, a concert entitled Ronald Braus and Guests was held on the island of St Andrew (the Red Island), which was organized by the town Tourist Board and “Maistra.”
The Tourist Board organized an attractive programme in the summer calendar – the Night of St Lawrence. During this night of ‘falling stars,’ Rovinj was promoted as a romantic destination, with great entertainment and its street atmosphere of electric lighting turned off.
The Swan Lake by P. I. Tchaikovsky, choreographed by Gedeminas Taranda, director of the Russian Imperial Ballet, was staged on the Hotel Eden lawn after the performance held in the Arena in Pula.
Last Sunday, during this second Sunday in August, the traditional Rovinj open sky exhibition was held, the show being recognized throughout the Mediterranean as its largest, under the name of Grisija.
A great performance by multi-talented musicians from Morocco, Israel, Andalusia, Portugal and Italy ended the second edition of the International Mediterranean Folk Music Festival held in Rovinj.
As part of the International Festival of Mediterranean Music Sete Sois Sete Luas, held in Rovinj for the second consecutive year, during the second festival evening, the audience could enjoy in performances by two famous Italian bands – the Piccolo Band Ikon and Jure Du Re' Project, who play the traditional sound of the south of their country and the Mediterranean.
For the second year in a row, Rovinj hosted the International Festival of Mediterranean folk music Sete Sois Sete Luas (Seven Suns Seven Moons), that is being promoted in ten Mediterranean cities through a cultural exchange network.

In a full church of St Euphemia, a great concert by the Zagreb Chamber Orchestra, led by the world renowned violinist Tonko Ninčević, opened this year’s 15th concert cycle of the Rovinj Summer Festival.
The best Croatian opera divas, soprano Sandra Bagarić and mezzo-soprano Martina Tomčić, staged a promotion of their first joint pop-opera album entitled the ‘Marmalade Theatre,’ in a newly presented venue – the lawn of the Eden Hotel.

During the first weekend of July, the Tourist Board, the Town of Rovinj and the Association of the Batana Boat House organised the first announced attractive event entitled Fishing Tradition Evenings.
The Town of Rovinj hosted the International Summer Salsa Festival this year too, for the fifth year in a row, which was organised again, along with a host of sponsors, by the Zagreb Los Mamberos Club, with Maistra and the Tourist Board as co-organisers.
